Now onto my card… I knew I wanted to use the amazing Photo Collage Pop-Up die on the inside, so I kept the front super clean and simple. I stamped and Copic colored one of the images from the Sassy and Crafty Love Your Look stamp set, and stamped the “You’re Meow Favorite” sentiment underneath. I masked those off and ink blended a halo using the Awesome Stars stencil and Shaded Lilac distress ink.

Moving onto the inside of the card, I created two 4.25 x 5.5″ panels from white cardstock and used my distress oxide inks (Tumbled Glass, Shaded Lilac, Spun Sugar) to blend an ombre background. Then, I placed the Awesome Stars stencil overtop and inked in slightly darker colors overtop (Broken China, Wilted Violet, Worn Lipstick). I cut these panels down using a rectangle die slightly smaller than 4.25 x 5.5″ and adhered them to the inside of the card. Next, I cut out each of the pieces of the Photo Collage Pop-Up die set from 110 lb. cardstock, I assembled the pop-up mechanism and adhered that to my card — there’s a great video showing how to assemble it here!

Once the mechanism was assembled, I went to work creating eight of my little “polaroids”. I used a mix of stamps from the Love Your Look and What’s Up Buttercup sets to create my little scenes. I stamped all of the images using Gina K Designs Obsidian Black amalgam ink and Copic colored them. Next, I adhered the little polaroid frames to finish each scene and attached them to the “arms” of the mechanism. Lastly, I created two little sentiment banners from the same stamp sets and adhered them in the corners of the card (to make sure they weren’t in the way of where the photos needed to “swing” when the card opens and closes).

Thank you so much for stopping by today! I encourage you to check out all the other amazing designers along the hop!

Your next stop on the hop is Frances!

  1. Your card is so cute — and deceptive at first glance. The front is very clean and simple, but the pop on the inside is the star of the show!

  3. Love this die. Very cute card. I got to make one of these before the house burned down for my mother-in-law. It was cool.
