Soft Stenciled Card – Create A Smile Moodboard Challenge

Hello and welcome back crafty friends! Today I am sharing the card I created for the newest Create A Smile Challenge!

I started with a 4.25 x 5.5″ card panel and ink blended over the Create A Smile (CAS) Spring Garden stencil using distress oxide inks in Mowed Lawn, Shabby Shutters, and Abandoned Coral. I took the stencil away and (with a very light hand and no additional ink) used my blending brushes to gently go over each area–this takes away the stark white lines and gives it a softer look.

Next, I stamped the little bee image from the Best Bugs stamp set and the thinking bubble from Bujo Basic using Gina K Designs Obsidian Black amalgam ink. I Copic colored the images using the following colors:

  • Bee–Y18, Y08, Y06, Y02 | N8, N6, N4 | BG0000, BG000 (wings)
  • Thought bubble–C1, C0, C00

Once the coloring was done, I die cut one of the Stitched Square Frames and cut a small square of vellum to fit just behind. I adhered the vellum and square frame down to the card and then adhered the bee and though bubble on top. Lastly, I mounted the panel on a top folding 4.25 x 5/5″ card base to finish it off!

Everyone is welcome to join in our biweekly challenges—and there’s a chance to win a 25€ giftcard to the CAS shop! All you have to do is create a project inspired by the graphic using at least one Create A Smile product as your focal point and add your project to the blog using the link tool! I hope you have a lovely week!
