THINGS I LOVE

I picked up calligraphy in February 2017, and have since designed multiple wedding invitation suites, event signage, personalized ornaments, and more!

I began cross-stitching in 2018 and have fallen in love with designing my own nerdy & sassy cross-stitch pixel patterns. I also LOVE stitching on cards!

I stumbled into the cardmaking world in 2017 and haven’t looked back since! It allows me to incorporate all my hobbies while sharing handmade kindness.

I took my first jewelry class when I was 16 and was immediately hooked. Although I don’t make as much as I used to, I still find myself with pliers in hand every once in a while.

I took pottery classes throughout high school and university, and even taught the children’s classes at my local studio. I’ve since picked up polymer clay too!

Although knit and crochet is my most longstanding hobby, I would still consider myself a beginner. I mostly stick to knitting scarves and shawls, and amigurumi plushies are so fun to crochet!

A BIT ABOUT ME

While most folks in the crafty space know me as a cardmaker and calligrapher, I’m also a medical student, which keeps me pretty busy. Prior to medical school I completed a Master of Public Health and an Honours Bachelor of Science. I’ve always struggled to find a balance between my academic pursuits and love of arts and crafts—I still haven’t figured out the solution (my life is one big teeter-totter!), so I try to make room for both as best I can.

When I’m not working (in clinical research and on a mental health helpline), studying, or in class, I’m likely in my craft room. Crafting has played a huge role in helping me deal with anxiety and mental health challenges. Creating is such a fun and enjoyable outlet for me, and I’d love to help others find the joy I’ve been able to find in crafting! I’m still learning, but I do hope you’ll enjoy (…or at least find some entertainment in) following along my creative journey!

I also LOVE dogs! We (my family & I) have 2 little dogs—Elmo & Ernie—who are my crafting helpers… and by that I mean that they like to come and sit-on and/or fall asleep all over everything. I love them more than anything, and my craft room is actually their bedroom!
