Rainbow Glitter Stenciling – Create A Smile Moodboard Challenge

Hello and welcome back crafty friends! Today I am sharing the card I created for the newest Create A Smile Challenge which has a fun rainbow moodboard!

I started by stamping the feather quill from the Create A Smile (CAS) Quill & Ink stamp set onto a 4.25″ x 5.5″ 110 lb. card panel using Gina K Designs Obsidian Black amalgam ink and masked it off. Next, I stamped the scroll and “for your birthday” sentiment from the same set, and masked them off as well.

I used Pixie Spray on my CAS Bubble Circle stencil and placed it on the card panel. I used my blending brushes and distress inks to blend in a circle: Candied Apple, Picked Raspberry, Spiced Marmalade, Mustard Seed, Twisted Citron, Peacock Feathers, and Wilted Violet. Without removing the stencil I spread Cosmic Shimmer glitter paste over the stencil using a palette knife. I immediately removed and washed the stencil and palette knife, and made sure to remove the masks (very carefully) while the glitter paste was still wet (you could wait until it dries but it may rip the mask/card panel or leave harsh edges).

Once the glitter paste was dry (I let it dry overnight), I Copic colored the scroll and feather quill using the following colors:

  • Scroll–E43, E42, E41
  • Feather quill–N8, N6, N4, N2, N0

I mounted the card panel onto a 4.25″ x 5.5″ top-folding card base, and voila, the card is complete!

Everyone is welcome to join in our biweekly challenges—and there’s a chance to win a 25€ giftcard to the CAS shop! All you have to do is create a project inspired by the graphic using at least one Create A Smile product as your focal point and add your project to the blog using the link tool! I hope you have a lovely week!
