Slimline Pop-Up Card – Penguin Palace Cinematic Shadow Box

Welcome back crafty friends! Today I’m showcasing the amazing new Cinematic Shadow Box Stand Alone Die from Penguin Palace!

I started by cutting each of the pieces in the set from white cardstock. I blended the 2 side pieces and 5 ground levels with cracked pistachio distress oxide ink. I blended the back panel with tumbled glass distress oxide ink and a cloud stencil to make it look like a sky. I assembled all the pieces together (there’s an awesome how-to video on the Penguin Palace Youtube channel!) and added an additional die-cut rectangle cut from blue cardstock to the back for some extra stability.

I stamped a sentiment from the Beautiful Africa stamp set onto the dotted rectangle die-cut and glued it to the front piece. I also glued the decorative side panels to each side, and the dotted rectangle to the back (this creates a nice space to write your message!).

Next, I stamped and Copic colored all the images from the Beautiful Africa stamp set and cut them out with the coordinating dies. I played around with placement until I was happy with how the scene looked, and then I glued down all of the pieces with some liquid glue. I love how bright and happy this card turned out, and it fits perfectly within a slimline card envelope for mailing!

Don’t forget to visit the Penguin Palace blog this week (22 Mar to 27 Mar) for fun projects, prizes, and to pre-order (any purchase of 80CAD+ (~65USD+) will get a free gift)!
